Materials Needed:
- White Paper
- Pencil and Eraser
- Crayons or Pencil Color
It won't take you more than 15 minutes to complete the drawing; however, it will take time for your kids to learn.
Here, we will be describing the simple drawing of a fish. This tutorial will have detailed information on drawing a fish's eye to its fins. Follow every step of the tutorial, and you will have an exact result as the image.
Total Time: 15 minutes
Step #1: Draw an Oval
The first step is to draw an oval, which will be the main body part of the fish. You can also say the stomach area.
Step #2: Draw a Fish Tail
Once you have drawn an oval, it's time you draw a tail. For the tail, draw two curved lines that will connect each other at the end of the main body part (on the left side).
Wait, let us make it easier. Draw a deep arc that opens on the opposite side of the body, overlapping a tiny portion of its left side, as shown in the figure.
Now, draw a less curved line, arched towards the body, and enclose the first arc by joining both the curves' ends.
Step #3: Draw Fish's Eye
Now, make a C-shape curve inside the oval (at the front) to create the face of your fish. Draw a small circle inside this section to make an eye.
Don't forget to add pupils to the eye. Also, using an eraser, rub off the intersecting part at the tail. (Look at figure (3) for reference.)
Step #4: Draw its Mouth
You are making a simple and cute cartoon fish; hence the mouth or lips will be small and cute. It is the easiest step in the entire drawing tutorial. All you have to do is draw a small "3" on the front side of your fish's face.
Step #5: Draw One of its Fins
Fins help fish to swim and survive. So, don't ever forget to make the fins. For drawing a fin, you will have to draw a circular cone on the upper side of the body. You don't need to be precise; even a little curvy cone will work.
Step #6: Draw Another Fin
Follow step 5 to add another fin on the other side of your fish's body. Till here, you will have a proper figure or outline of the fish. From steps 7 to 9, we will focus on adding details.
Step #7: Draw Scales on The Fins
You can give a proper shape to your fish's fins by drawing scales on them, as given in figure (7).
Step #8: Draw Scales on The Tail
Now, it's time to add the fish scales on the tail fin too. It is simple; just draw two horizontal curved lines parallel to the length of the tail, and it's done.
Step #9: Color the Fish
Now, we are only left with the coloring part to finish off the fish drawing. Here, we have used pencil colors, but you can go for crayons as well. Kids will be more comfortable with those.
Use a light blue color for the stomach area and sections of fins and tail (as shown in figure 9). And take dark blue color to finish off the remaining areas. Remember, the fish's eyes will be black!
